The day it finally rained in Rome.

Today was a great day. Originally Chael and I had decided to go to the waterpark, but when we woke up this morning we saw that it was supposed to storm today. We decided not to chance it, but rather check out the Vatican Museums and most importantly the Sistine Chapel. We only live about a five minute walk from the Vatican so we headed over and didn't even need to wait in a line! The Vatican Museums are very large, and tiring but we did see some pretty paintings and a mummy exhibit with an actual Egyptian Mummy in it. Finally after walking through the entirety of the Vatican Museums we arrived at the Sistine Chapel. As every other work of Michelangelo's the Sistine Chapel was breathtaking. It really was amazing and worth all of the hype. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the amount of people in the room. It makes it hard for you to enjoy something so beautiful when you are shoulder to shoulder with strangers and you can't even just sit down and take it all in. We obviously made a photoshoot out of the entire day though, and took tons of pictures. It was a great day, and lots of laughs.

After the Vatican we decided to do a little shopping. It is the last few days of the Roman sales and we found a nice street close to home and the Vatican. What a fun afternoon! We tried on and admired tons and tons of clothes, even treated ourselves to a few new wardrobe additions (which were on sale and cheap of course). We found a couple of really awesome stores. I found a great Starbucks tanktop which is a great accessory to my Starbucks addiction.

Our real adventure started on the way home. We were shopping, not knowing exactly how late it was. All of the sudden it started raining, it was refreshing at first. Until it started pouring, like really pouring. We were SOAKED!!! We grabbed cardboard boxes to try and keep us a little bit dry but it was a lost cause. All of the sudden I looked down and my  paper shopping bad had broken and my new shirt fell out! Luckily I found it because it was my new Starbucks Tank. :-) Once we finally got home was when I realized that my clothes had been drying on the line outside. OOPPPS The way I see it they now have that fresh rain smell haha.
