It's been a while...

Oops. I am a terrible blogger. I think I am going to have to write blogging into my agenda in order to keep up on it. I have been so busy during these past couple of months. This is a jammed packed semester for me, finishing all of my senior year requirements.

I have also searching for job opportunities or deciding on going to grad school. I have a true passion for improving education, and working with children. I love tutoring once a week, and have learned so much from the kids. Turns out there is a thing called "new math" I'm not sure if anyone else is familiar with it... it's much different than I learned to multiple and divide, but now I know how to do it thanks to my tutees.

This week I watched a great movie, it's called Invictus. Morgan Freeman plays Nelson Mandela, the former South African President and political activist. I suggest that you put the movie on your netflix que soon because it was really great. He was such an inspiring man, jailed for 27 years for standing up against an oppressive government. I'm gonna leave you all with a few quotes from Mandela.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world"

"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."

The reason that I wish to get into public service after graduation is pretty much summed up by these two quotes. I know that I am heading in the right direction, I just need to follow my heart, and God will work the rest out for me. He will never give me something that I cannot handle, so I must put my trust in Him.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. I am very much looking forward to spending some time with my family. I haven't seen my favorite twin boys in ages so I can't wait for their hugs and to play games. I am also excited to cook with my aunts and my mom. Gossip with my best friend and little sister Kendra. Most of all, I am excited to continue the tradition of Black Friday shopping. We have gone for as long as I can remember, and the early morning crazy ritual started with Auntie and I like 8 or 9 years ago.
