Well I have been home for about two weeks now, and I have been busy. Mostly visiting and trying to recover some of the funds I lost while in Rome, and by lost I clearly mean spent. I am going to try to upload a slide show of pictures for you all to see. It's so hard when people ask me about my trip because so much happened it's hard to just talk about it all, which is why I am so glad that I kept this blog full of all of my memories.
I'm not sure if I really experienced reverse culture shock. Maybe that is just because of all the excitement that was awaiting my return. It was very strange to have American Money, I still have some Euro change in my wallet, and even a few Franks from Switzerland, I can't seem to part with them. I'm a Geek. The other really strange thing is when people started asking me for my ID, and remembering that wine will usually cost more than 5 Euro. And is it possible that I actually wish I could order a Peroni rather than a Bud Light!?? I guess we will always miss those things that we can not have! Mostly what I miss about Rome is my roommates, since two of them live across the country. I do not miss the heat, but I sure do miss the sunshine, my tan is quickly fading.
So far...hearing multiple english conversations is less overwhelming than I thought, and I haven't even accidentally spoke Itlaian to anyone. So my only two predictions did not happen. I am starting to forget some of the Italian that I learned while in Rome though, so I need to find a way to fix that.
I am heading down to Boston/Lexington/Foxboro this weekend, for some American fun...aka...country fest. I figure it's the 2nd best thing to the 4th of July...and I missed the 4th so I am going to make this count. And it is just a few more weeks until school starts. I move down in like 2 weeks I think. I am so excited to get back to the city and see my friends, and reunite with my dear friends from Roma!
